Joyce Mildred Barker Kennedy, 84, of Haines City, Florida earned her wings April 26, 2022. She was originally from Lunenburg, Virginia. She lived her life in Virginia, Kansas City, and Florida. Joyce worked as a nurse for more than 20 years. She enjoyed church, dancing, music, jokes, and movies. She loved life and love to laugh. Most of all, she loved her friends and family.

She was the daughter of John Baynes Barker and Laura Alice Barker. She was preceded by her Brother Wilbur Lee Barker of Hampton, Va. She is survived by her sister Geraldine Spence of Lawrenceville, Va and her brother John B. Barker (Barbara) of Christiansburg, Va. She was married to Bernard Kennedy for 20 years and they had 3 children, Patricia Kennedy Phillips (Howard) of Victoria, Va. Donna Kennedy Weber (Kenneth) of Haines City, Fl. and John Calvin Kennedy of Haines City, Fl. She also was preceded by her 2nd Husband Patrick Kennedy. Joyce had 6 grandchildren: Keith Phillips (Beth) of Victoria, Va. Sammy Phillips (Holly) of Rice, Va. Shawn Phillips of Victoria, Va. Tyler Collin of Ashland, Va. Lindsey Weber of Lake Alfred, Fl and Katelynn Kennedy Zephyrhills, Fl. She also had 7 great grandchildren Noah Phillips, Jessie Phillips, Luke Phillips, Libby Phillips, Nolan Phillips, Wyatt Evans, and Lydia-Marie Freese. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She will live forever in our hearts!

Celebration of life will be held at Thrift’s Chapel UMC 45 Marshall Town Rd. Victoria, Va. 23974 Saturday May 21st, 2022, at 11:00 am. In lieu of flowers please donate to Thrifts Chapel.
