RAWLINGS,
Martha Anne McDowell Rawlings, 87, passed away February 18, 2018 in Southaven, Mississippi. Martha was born on July 25, 1930 in Rawlings, VA. She married Walter Eugene Rawlings on October 22, 1949 at the Dundas Baptist Church. They were married 58 years.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Walter Rawlings, in 2008, her nephew, Bobby (Mac) McDowell in 1987 and her brother C.B. McDowell in 2012, of Alberta, VA. She is survived by her son Walter E. Rawlings, JR “Gino” and his wife, Karen, of Nesbit, MS, Michael Rawlings of Richmond, VA and his fiancé, Vivian Bergolc of Solon, OH. She leaves behind one granddaughter, Stacye Trout, and her husband Cal Trout and one great-grandaughter, Ava (7 months), all of Charleston, MS. Caregivers and friends include Terry Van Story and Irene Stevenson. Martha was beloved by many friends and family members. She was the “go-to friend” depended on by so many in her community. She was beautiful, feisty and fiercely loyal. Visitation will be held at Clarke Funeral Home in Kenbridge, VA on Saturday Feb. 24, 2018 from 5 until 7 pm. Graveside services will be at 1 pm Sunday, Feb. 25, 2018 at Perseverance Christian Church Cemetery in Dundas, VA.
