BOHON, Charles Cleveland Bohon, Sr., 81, of Blackstone, Va. died July 30, 2017. He was born July 26, 1936 in Roanoke, Va. son of the late Henry Gerber Bohon and Lomey Plunkett Bohon. Charles attended night school and obtained his GED. He graduated from The Carpenter Apprenticeship Program, Carpenter Union 696, Tampa Florida and he attended the University of South Florida. While working in Iran, after work hours in the evening, he taught an English class. The University of Bobblesar serviced his apprenticeship on a housing project in Tampa. He erected the first concrete tilt slab, three story building in Tampa, Fla. While in Iran, he was the superintendent on and eight billion dollar project for the National Iranian Oil Company on the Caspian Sea. He also had the job of superintendent on a lock and dam, on Black River, Jonesville, La. The last job before retiring was in Kuwait, with American International for the United States Army. Charles was a lifelong member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He served as Second Counselor and First Counselor to the branch president in Brandon, Fla. He is survived by his four children, Charles, Jr., Marvin, Wanda and Joe Roger; four grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren; and devoted friend Jeffrey Burruss.
