William Ray, “Billy” Newcomb, 79, of Burkeville, VA. went to be with the Lord and his family in Heaven on June 17, 2019. He was born to the late Andrew and Mattie Mae Newcomb in Rehoboth, VA and was one of 12 children. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Lillian G. Newcomb; his daughter Stephanie Newcomb Fowlkes (Alton) and his son Steve Newcomb (Dolores Kennedy); grandsons, Ryan Newcomb and Hunter Fowlkes; granddaughters Kaylee Newcomb and Maddie Fowlkes; 4 great-grandsons, Nolan, Miles, Wyatt and Leo; his brother, Bennie Newcomb and sisters Martha Clark and Jean Clark; numerous nieces and nephews he considered to be his own children. He was preceded in death by his beloved son, Michael Andrew; his grandson, William Blake; brothers, Joe, Hester, Warren and Jack Newcomb; sisters, Ethel May Dayberry and  Lois N. Clark and two infant siblings. Billy had a deep love for his Lord and Savior his family and the land. Funeral services will be held Monday, June 24 at 11 a.m. at Cool Springs Christian Church, Keysville, VA with interment to follow In the church cemetery. The family will receive friends in the church fellowship hall immediately following services and at all other times at 405 Agnew Street, Burkeville.
