PHELPS,
Samuel Lee “Sammy” Phelps, 80, of Lunenburg, Va. went to be with the Lord on January 4, 2018. He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles Phelps and Sylvia Duncan Herndon; and brother Eugene Phelps. He is survived by his daughters, Beverly Armstrong (Marty) and Tammy Gaulding; 3 grandchildren, Dan Glasscock, Drake Armstrong and Hailey Armstrong; one great-grandson, Hudson Armstrong. Sammy served our country for twenty years in the U.S Navy and retired as a Chief Petty Officer.  He loved to read, hunt and ride motorcycles. He enjoyed life. Memorial services will be private.
