Carrie Nell Cox Thompson, 99, of Dundas, Va. went to be with the Lord on Sept. 14, 2018. She was the wife of the late Walter Harris Cox and George Howard Thompson; mother of the late Madison Lane Cox; grandmother of the late Michael H. Cox and sister of the late Inez C. Howerton She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Harris and Sue Cox of Dundas; grandson, Steve W. Cox; two great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren; step-daughter, Beverly T. Ghany; cousins, George Robertson (Betty Ann) and Jean Williamson; devoted caregivers Mary Irby and Sharon Shaw. Nell was a lifelong member of Perseverance Christian Church. She enjoyed dancing, traveling, baking for others and spending time with her family. The family will receive friends Tuesday, Sept. 18, 2018 from 12:45 to 1:45PM at the Clarke Funeral Home in Kenbridge. Graveside services to follow at 2PM in the Cox Family Cemetery, Dundas, Va.
