GLOVER,

Avoy Scales Glover, 95, of Kenbridge, Va. joined her family in Heaven on July 1, 2018. She was preceded in death by her husband, William Russell Glover; two sons, William Russell Glover, Jr. and Stephen Loper Glover; her parents, Nathaniel Lee Scales and Ada Belle Wood Scales; siblings, Doris E. Shelor and Roy Scales and foster sibling, Alfred P. Brammer. She is survived by a son, Gordon H. Glover (Liza) and a daughter, Daphne D. Glover; daughters-in-law, Andrea Mitman and Diane Glover; 5 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. Avoy graduated from Virginia Tech. She enjoyed playing bridge and was an avid Hokie Football fan and gardner. Avoy was an amazing lady with a great sense of humor, who, as a widow, raised four college graduates while serving as director of Lunenburg County Social Services. She was a member of the Kenbridge Baptist Church where the family will receive friends on Saturday, July 7, 2018 from 10 AM until start of services at 11:00. Dr. Charles Smith officiating. Interment in the Kenbridge Heights Cemetery. We would also like to recognize and thank Avoy’s caregivers, Lillie Shaw, Sharon Shaw, Lisa Morton and many others.
