Shirley Hood Ashworth Francis, 86, of Victoria, VA joined her family in Heaven on August 17, 2022. She was the wife of the late Hugh Franklin Ashworth; daughter of the late Matthews Thorborn Hood and Lela Hood; sister of the late Clyde, Robert, Thorborn, Jr., Kenneth, Floyd, Clifford, Edith Murray. Lois Skelton and Evelyn Weir and grandmother of the late, Jamie Long and Jodi Ashworth. She is survived by her sons, Eugene (Kathy), Carl (Rachael), Eddie (Sharon) and Roger (Marion); 6 grandchildren, Holly Ashworth, Damon Ashworth (Erika), Nicole Johns (Ryan), Dalton Ashworth, Logan Ashworth and Brandi Lloyd; 3 great-grandchildren; her sister, Jeanette H. Tomlinson and many nieces, nephews and friends. Shirley dearly loved her family, her church and her church family.

She enjoyed going out to listen to music and going out to eat. She was a dedicated and faithful member of Northside Gospel  Chapel, 2300 Marshall Avenue, Victoria, where the family will receive friends Monday, August 22, 2022 from 1:00PM until start of services at 2:00PM.
