I am so sad to hear of Mary Eunice's passing. I have fond memories of her while she lived in Kenbridge. God bless and comfort all of you in the days ahead.

SLAUGHTER,
Mary Eunice Harris Smith Slaughter, 89, of Kenbridge, Va. passed away May 1, 2018. She was the wife of the late Clint Smith and is survived by her husband, Robert Slaughter of Burkeville, Va; also left to cherish her memory are her children, Clint Smith, Jr. (Jill) of Cary, NC, Thomas Smith (Cynthia) of Powhatan, VA., Katherine Arthur (Michael) of Victoria, VA., Hilda Jackson of Kenbridge, VA. and step-daughter, Susan McInturff of Texas; nine grandchildren, Brian Smith (Jill), Michael Arthur, Jr. (Lisa), Trey Howerton (Rikki), Christy Urban (Mike), Kelly Smith-Grimley (Chris), Jeffrey Arthur (Heather), Carter Smith (Kristine), Cal Jackson (Kim) and April Jennings (Jay) and 15 great-grandchildren. Mary retired from  Rochester Button Company. She was a member of  Kenbridge Baptist Church and Vansant Baptist Church. Her talents included sewing, crafting, cooking and gardening. Sunday dinner was always special at Nannie’s.  The family will receive friends Friday, May 4, 2018 from 10 to 11:00 a.m. at the Clarke Funeral Home in Kenbridge. Graveside services will immediately follow in the Kenbridge Heights Cemetery. Flowers are welcome or please consider memorial donations to New Hope Baptist Church, P.O.
