ABERNATHY,

Joseph Wallace “Joe” Abernathy, 71, of Kenbridge, Va. joined his family in Heaven on March 27, 2019. He was one of sixteen children of the late Eddie Wilson Abernathy and Ethel Abernathy Sparks. He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Dallas Bohannon Abernathy; his son, Kevin Abernathy (Jessica);  “Papa” to Conner and Kristen Abernathy; and devoted friend, Sarah Daniel.

Joe will always be remembered for his love of family, mules, horses, gardening, hunting and fishing. The family will receive friends Friday from 6:30 to 8PM at the Clarke Funeral Home in Kenbridge where funeral services will be held Saturday, March 30, 2019 at 2:30PM.
