James L. “Oscar” Whittaker, Jr., 75, of Summerville, FL and formerly of Greensboro, NC joined his family in Heaven on Jan. 12, 2018. He was pre-ceded in death by his parents, James L. and Ruth Patterson Whittaker and sisters, Wanda Anderson, Peggy Whittaker and Cynthia Crafton. He is survived by his son, Johnny Whittaker (Jan) and daughter, Annlea Whittaker; grandchildren, Zach Whittaker and Lindsey Whittaker; 7 great-grandchildren; his brother, William “Bill” Whittaker; soulmate, Eileen Mock and devoted niece, Debbie Thorpe. Oscar was a HVAC salesman for many years. He enjoyed playing golf and spending time with his sisters. Funeral services will be held Saturday, Jan. 20, 2018 at 11am in the Staples Funeral Home, Victoria, Va. where the family will receive friends Saturday from 10am until start of services.
