Audrey Shields Smith, 84, of Kenbridge, Va. joined her family in Heaven on Feb. 22, 2017. She was preceded in death by her husband, Eugene Sinton “Smitty” Smith; parents, Charlie Thomas Shields and Mary Overby Shields; and her brother, Claiborne J. Shields. She is survived by two nieces; Gayle Grant and Kathy Barnhill; three great-nieces, Ashley Grant, Lynn Cleaton and Cynthia Peebles; great-great niece, Jordan Cleaton and great-great nephews, Chase Cleaton and Aiden Grant; sister-in-law, Dorothy Shields; devoted caretakers, Gracie Hawthorne, Rachel Jackson, Ida Matthews, Katie Hubbard and Theresa Walker. Audrey was a faithful member of Antioch United Methodist Church. The family will receive friends at the Clarke Funeral Home in Kenbridge on Friday, Feb. 24^th, 2017 from 12:30 pm until the start of services at 2pm Burial to follow at Antioch United Methodist Church, 3211 South Hill Road, Kenbridge, Va. 23944.
