Mrs. Ashworth was a gift from God to all of us who were blessed to know her. She was an angel on earth and now an angel in Heaven. She will be sorely missed. Rest in Peace, dear lady.

Helen Callahan Ashworth, 97, of Victoria, VA, died December 6, 2016. Helen was born in Mecklenburg County, Va. to the late William James Callahan and Sallie Bet Hudson Callahan. She was the wife of the late Edgar B. Ashworth. She is survived by many nieces, nephews and friends. Helen retired from Craddock Terry Shoe Corporation. She dearly loved the town and people of Victoria and was a past recipient of the town’s Citizen of the Year award. She was a charter member of the Ladies Auxiliary for VFW Post #9954 and a member of the Victoria Baptist Church where funeral services will be held Friday, December 9, 2016 at 2:00 P.M. The family will receive friends at the church from 12:30 PM until start of services. Interment Lakeview Cemetery, Victoria, Virginia. In lieu of flowers please consider memorial donations to Victoria Baptist Church, P.O. Box 911, Victoria, Va. 23974 or the Lunenburg Health Services, P.O. Box 121, Victoria, Va. 23974.
