My condolences to your family for the passing of Emmett. He was an acquaintance of mine, whom I got to know by being a Victoria Police & Fire Department dispatcher as a teenager. I always thought of him as a nice guy... Best regards, W.G. Smith

Sending my sincere sympathy to his family. I knew him when he came to the Town Office in South Hill with his job. Such a nice person. May God be with each member of his family in the months ahead without him. Lots of love from my home to yours.

My dearest friend Betty, First, my deepest sympathy for you and your family. Without your love for Emmett and your great care for him and your family there would not be the legacy you two created. You and Emmett showed everyone that genuine and true love thru the good times and the not so good times is the only way. Emmett and I were very close friends as early as the second grade, often walking to school together... thru those early years... and, I have known and loved you from my teenage years and was so very happy when you and Emmett got married. Betty, you "done real good." Love and condolences to you and your wonderful family, John Underwood

The Williams Family: Emmett and I came onto ABC as Investigators back in the 60s and we had been friends since. He did a fine job as an Investigator, Agent, and ASAC and was well respected by all. Please know that my thoughts and prayers are with you all in this difficult time.

I'll bet that, when the VHS crowd sits around thinking of the good old times, Emmett's name is one that always pops up. That's a pretty good legacy.

To one of my best friends. We shared many great moments together (from golf to boy-scouts), time and time again. We weathered many camping trips together for the scouts. We won several golf tournaments together, with Emmett carrying the team. I sure will miss my buddy and will continue to ask for prayers for his family. Love forever, Mooch

Peace be in your heart at this sad time. Just know you are not alone. Your friends are always close by. Also know that Emmett is well now and going down number1 in a match game as we speak. Betty Overton

I was sorry to hear of Emmett's death, but know he had lived a long and productive life. Though I was out of the Boy Scouts by the time he and my father hit stride leading Scout activities in their respective areas, I was around some of the camping trips and varied things they did with the youth. I also would see him at Vaughan's Grocery every now and then. He would always ask about my family and we would exchange a chuckle about something one of us had brought up...He was a good man that did good things...
