Gloria Arthur Matthews, 70, of Kenbridge, VA joined her husband Nathaniel Haynie Matthews, Sr. in Heaven on April 9, Easter, 2023.  She was preceded in death by her parents, Ellis Price Arthur and Sallie Lou Davis Arthur; great-granddaughter Cora Mae Matthews; and brothers, Paul Stevens Arthur, Anderson Adams Arthur and Ellis “Pete” Franklins Arthur. She is survived by her loving son, Haynie Matthews; her devoted daughter, Sallie Rogers (Robby); her grandchildren, Cierra, Cameron, Nathan (Holly), Georgie, BJ and Riley; great-grandchildren, Elizabeth and Onyx; sister, Sallie A. Robinette. Gloria enjoyed cooking, working at Smith’s Pharmacy and the Kenbridge Post Office and most of all spending time with her family that she dearly loved.  The family will receive friends Wednesday, April 12, 2023 from 6:30 to 8PM at the Clarke Funeral Home in Kenbridge.
