My thoughts prayers and love is with Dorothy and the rest of the family during this time. May the Lord offer constant support in this time of sorrow. Uncle Elson will be missed tremendously.

Dorothy & Joyce am so sorry to hear about Elson but know now he is in heaven with mama and the rest of the family that went before him. Love you all and sorry can't be with you at this time. Prayers being sent for you all. Susan

I'm sorry to hear this. I work for Dr. Allen, Mr Powers was one of my favorite patients. I know he will be missed. We would all benefit from having more people in our lives like him.

Elson Austin Powers, 86, of Dundas, Va. joined his family in Heaven on April 1, 2017. He was the son of the late Lynn T. Powers and Almeta E. Powers and brother to the late Tommy Lee Powers and Shirley Powers Hite. Elson is survived by his wife, Dorothy Moore Powers; he is “PaPa” to Hunter Hite and Chase Hite and the brother of Joyce Braddy. He served his country in the United States Army and was a member of New Hope Christian Church, Danieltown. The family will receive friends Sunday, April 2, from 4:30 to 6:00 p.m. at the Clarke Funeral Home in Kenbridge, where funeral services will be held Monday, April 3, at 1:00 PM Interment in Crestview Memorial Park, South Hill, Va. In lieu of flowers please consider Donations to New Hope Christian Church Building Fund, 742 New Hope Rd, Danieltown, VA 23821 Online condolences may be made at
