    Charles Franklin Callis, Jr., 83, of Kenbridge, Va. joined his family in Heaven on August 12, 2023. He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles Franklin Callis and Florence Vaughan Callis; his wife of 37 years, Jean T. Callis and his son, Charles Vincent “Vince” Callis.He is survived by his daughter, Kimberly C. Wilkerson and son-in-law Richard D. Wilkerson; granddaughters, Logan J. Wilkerson, Vaughan J. Wilkerson, Allie J. Callis and Khloe V. Callis; great-grandsons Easton and Kylen; his sister, Betty Williams; his brother, Reggie Callis (Louise); nieces, Hope Scott and Sallie Gigliotti; nephews, Le Williams, Todd Williams and Jay Callis and 13 great-nieces and great-nephews. He was blessed with many faithful friends and companion Barbara D. Stott. Charles graduated from Kenbridge High School, attended Ferrum College and served our country in the U.S. Army. He retired from the U.S. Customs service after 35 years of service. He loved his family, golfing, a good game of cards, escapades to Mississippi, cold Pepsi, and a homegrown tomato sandwich. In lieu of flowers please consider donations to Antioch United Methodist Church, 265 Stone Mill Road, Kenbridge, Va. 23944  or to the Kenbridge Fire Department, P.O. Box 556, Kenbridge, Va 23944.
