Sammy was a very nice man and a patient of mine for almost two decades. His loving wife Nancye, son Jim Ray, and daughter Louanne went above and beyond any other family I have ever experienced in my career caring for Sammy at home. Most of the patients with his medical condition have to be cared for in a skilled facility or hospital. I respect and appreciate what they did for him, and I know it brought him comfort being in his own home. I know it was a 24 hour job and they did whatever they had to do for him. I wish there was some kind of trophy or award for their efforts; it is an example of commitment, love, and respect.
