Chuck was a great lifetime friend . We were inseparable for a few years before I moved away, marriage , family and life got busy for both of us . One thing that never changed was that even after years when we did get together it was as if we saw each other frequently. He was always up for some fun , excitement or an adventure . He was always willing to help with whatever was asked of him . I’ll never forget some of our adventures and the crazy things we did . He was a dedicated family man , active in the community and always spoke well of everyone . Chuck will always be remembered as a true Friend. My thoughts and prayers are with the Schumaker Family as they mourn his loss and the Friends of the community that he left behind .

I am so sad to hear of the passing of Chuck. Our loss is Heaven's gain and I know Chuck is enjoying the joy of being with Our Savior! I am a friend of Karen's from way back (she was my mentor teacher in Spotsylvania!) but Chuck has always welcomed me as a family friend. Karen and family, I am praying for you for the comfort that only God can give. May He wrap His loving arms around you. You will be in my thoughts and prayers. Love you Karen! Ginger

The Allen Family (especially Faith Allen Conwell) send our deepest condolences and comfort to Karen, the children, the grandchildren, and the entire Schumaker family. Chuck was a very pleasant man and a good example of what a devoted father represents. He was genuinely dedicated to his family, the community, his business and most of all, to God. The Bible proclaims, "Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of his saints (believers)." Psalm 116:15

Karen and family, We are still in shock over Chuck’s passing. Having just seen you two a couple of weeks ago at Dennis’s birthday party and he looked like a picture of health makes this so sad and unbelievable. You two had a beautiful relationship and family; so glad he was able to know the blessing of having grandchildren and my Lord the friends he had that could never forget him. We pray that God’ s love and peace will be with each of you during this sad time and if we can be of help please let us know! God Bless Each Of You!! M

Charlie Walker ”Chuck” Schumaker III, 62 of Kenbridge, Virginia went to be with the Lord and joined his awaiting family in heaven on April 15, 2023. He was the son of the late Charlie W. Schumaker, Jr. (Betty) and Shirley Jones. He is survived by his wife and best friend of forty-two years, Karen Wingfield Schumaker and their beloved children. Matthew Schumaker (Megan), Steven Schumaker (Amanda), Hannah S. Parrish (Eli), and Faith Schumaker.  He was the best Papa to Marley, Walker, Waylon and Ada Schumaker. He was the proud owner of Chuck’s Auto & Truck Repair, where he loved serving and working for his community. Chuck was a true outdoorsman, a former Boy Scouts leader and an avid hunter. He was an active member of the Kenbridge Volunteer Fire Department, joining in April of 2001. Chuck and his family were proud of his numerous recognitions and awards for his service. His work ethic, sense of humor, and strong faith in God made him a pillar to his community. What Chuck was most known for was his deep love of family. A family man through and through, you could find him every evening rocking on the front porch with the love of his life. Chuck enjoyed nothing more than spending quality time with those he loved, grilling, and the “occasional” back deck dance party. Chuck was a longtime member of Kenbridge Christian Church, where a memorial service will be held this Sunday April, 23rd at 1:00PM  Clarke Funeral Home, Kenbridge, in charge of arrangements.
