    Judy I am so sorry about Carroll. I didn't know he had been sick. I should have kept up with you more. May the Lord give all of you peace and comfort.

    The Strickland family, I'm truly sorry to hear about the loss of Mr Strickland. I've always had the utmost respect for him, and all the family. Your truly great people. I will continue to keep you all in my prayers. May God bless you all during this time.

    To the Strickland family, I'm so sorry to hear about the loss of Mr Strickland. I had a great deal of respect for him. I grew up around him and the family. I will keep the family in my prayers, and may God continue to keep u all in his hands during this time. God bless you all!

    STRICKLAND,
    SSGT. Carroll Monroe Strickland, (Ret.)  80, of Victoria, Va. went home to be with the Lord 
    on January 4, 2020. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Violet June  “Judy” Strickland; his sons, Andy Strickland (Stacy), Jimmy Strickland (Les) and Bryan Strickland (Angie); 7 grandchildren, Tabitha L. Strickland, Ashley N. Strickland Ard (Chris Ard), Bryan T. Strickland, Taylor Strickland, Andrew H. Strickland (Bethany) and Troy C. Strickland; 4 great-grandchildren, Addison Ard, Gracie Ard, Levi Ard, and Nehemiah Strickland. SSGT. Strickland retired in 1976 from the U.S. Marine Corps after 20 years of service and

    two tours in Vietnam. He was a member of VFW Post 9954 and American Legion Post 0147. He loved his dogs, tinkering, telling his stories and cooking for others. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. He was a member of Ledbetter Christian Church, 4346 Double Bridges Rd, Meherrin, VA 23954, where funeral services will be held Wednesday, Jan. 8, 2020 at 1PM. The family will receive friends Tuesday Jan. 7th from 6:30 to 8PM at the Staples Funeral Home in Victoria. In lieu of flowers please consider memorial donations to Victoria Fire and Rescue, P.O. Box 1421, Victoria, Va. 23974.
